copper cathode

About COPPER CATHODE

Copper cathode is the final high-purity product of the electrolytic refining process, representing the highest quality standard in the copper industry with a minimum purity of 99.97% Cu

• Raw Material Sources
-Produced from two main feedstocks:
i. Low-grade copper scrap (<90% Cu) processed through copper furnaces, anode casting machines, and electrolysis plants
ii. High-grade copper scrap (>90% Cu) processed via disc casting machines and electrolysis
• Available Sizes
– Standard cathode dimensions vary by production method:
i. Full-size cathodes: typically 1000×1000mm or 900×900mm, weighing 50–120kg
ii. Custom sizes available upon request
• Processing Routes & End Products
– Copper cathodes serve as the primary feedstock for:
i. Shaft furnaces feeding CCR lines to produce copper rod (Ø8–30mm) for wire, cable, busbar, and strip applications
ii. Upcasting lines for direct conversion into copper rod and profiles
iii. Induction furnaces for copper ingot production and alloy manufacturing
iv. HCC (Horizontal Continuous Casting) lines for copper strip production

With its exceptional purity, the copper cathode serves as the essential link between scrap recycling and the production of high-performance copper products, ensuring superior quality across electrical, energy, and industrial applications.
