About COPPER INGOT
– Produced from two main feedstocks:
i. Low-grade copper scrap (<90% Cu) processed via copper furnaces with refining
ii. High-grade copper scrap (>90% Cu) processed via induction furnaces with minimal refining
– Available in various standard dimensions:
i. Small ingots: 8–50 kg (for foundry and alloying applications)
ii. Large ingots/slabs: Up to 12t (for hot rolling and downstream processing)
iii. Custom sizes available upon request
-Small ingots are primarily used in foundries for:
Alloy production (brass, bronze, and other copper-based alloys)
Tube and pipe manufacturing (via extrusion or piercing)
Cast components for plumbing, fittings, and specialty applications
-Large ingots/slabs are further processed into:
Copper strip (via hot rolling mills) for heat exchangers, radiators, and electronics
Copper rod (via CCR lines) for wire and cable production
Copper busbar (via extrusion and drawing) for power distribution systems
