Aluminum ingot is a key intermediate product in the aluminum processing industry, serving as the foundational raw material for a wide range of downstream applications. Produced primarily from recycled aluminum scrap through various melting technologies, aluminum ingots offer significant energy savings and cost advantages over primary aluminum production.

• Raw Material Sources
Produced from aluminum scrap via multiple furnace technologies:

i. Double Chamber Furnace: Features two chambers for melting and holding, achieving excellent energy efficiency and metal yield for mixed scrap
ii. Induction Furnace: Provides rapid, clean melting for high-quality scrap requiring precise temperature control and minimal oxidation
iii. Reverberatory Furnace: A versatile solution for melting various scrap types with high thermal efficiency
iv. Shaft Furnace: Designed for continuous melting of clean scrap and swarf with high throughput
v. Crucible Furnace: Suitable for smaller batch operations and alloy preparation, offering flexibility for diverse production requirements with excellent temperature control

• Available Sizes

Standard ingot sizes vary by casting method:

–  Small ingots: 5–12 kg (for foundry and alloying applications)
–  Large ingots: 12–28 kg (for extrusion and downstream processing)
–  Billets: Φ63–600mm (for extrusion profiles)
–  Custom sizes available upon request

• Processing Routes & End Products

The production of aluminum ingot follows a well-established processing sequence. Aluminum scrap, after initial sorting and preparation, is fed into one of the furnace types for melting and refining. The molten aluminum is then cast into ingots, slabs, or billets using Aluminum Ingot Casting Lines or Billet Casting Systems.

From these cast forms, multiple downstream processing routes are available:

– Aluminum Rod: Produced via CCR (Continuous Casting & Rolling) lines from molten aluminum, used for cable and wire applications
– Round Wire: Further drawn from aluminum rod using Drawing Machines for electrical conductors and cable manufacturing
– Flat Wire: Produced via Draw Bench from aluminum rod for transformer windings and specialty electrical applications
– Aluminum Billet: Cast via Billet Casting Systemsfor tubes, profiles, and other shaped products in the downstream production
– Aluminum Profile: Manufacturedfrom aluminum billet through the Homogeneous & Horizontal Extrusion process, yielding custom profiles for the architectural, automotive, and industrial sectors

The resulting aluminum products serve critical roles across the electrical, automotive, construction, and industrial sectors, delivering lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and highly conductive material solutions.
